Introduction

The BANK OF AFRICA banking group has made civic engagement one of the core components of its policies and is working to achieve this through its foundation, the BANK OF AFRICA Foundation.

To meet its aims, a local office has been set up in each country of operation (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Uganda, DRC, Senegal and Tanzania).

These 11 local offices aim to identify and propose projects in the sectors of education and health — now the agreed priority areas for intervention by the Foundation’s Administrative Council — and also to identify possible social campaigns.   Once validated, the local offices are responsible for implementing the projects, in agreement with the office director.

All members of the Foundation’s senior management are committed to running the Foundation and they do this on a voluntarily basis.
